Anja Hauschild…

is a professional dancer, graduated at the Palucca Schule Dresden, College for dance. Numerous dance injuries led to the decision against a career as a professional dancer and to an intensive examination with functional anatomy of the human body.
During her own rehabilitation, she first got in contact with the Pilates Method, which helped her to become pain-free very quickly.
She accomplished her teacher training at Center Circle Pilates Studio®, Munich, with Christin Kuhnert, Astrid Kiener and Marie-José Blom (USA). The Center Circle® offers an intensive 600 lessons long, rehab-based teacher training, which is the most extensive one in Germany.
Inspired by the diversity of therapeutic application forms of the Pilates Method, Anja decided to become a doctor, to build up a more efficient connection between Pilates and the medical field.
Since 2005 she has been studying human medicine at the Medical Faculty Carl Gustav Carus, in Dresden. Her special interest is the prevention, diagnostic and rehabilitation of dance injuries, as well as the integration of the Pilates Method in her medical work.
As a fan of dance art, it is her wish to specialize herself in medical treatment of professional dancers.
Anja Hauschild is a member of Tanzmedizin Deutschland e.V. (TaMed) and the International Association for Dance Medicine & Science (IADMS). Since 2009 she is head of the regional TaMeD e.V. office in Dresden.
